Named Big Bob, the Two Oceans 48 Sport Fisher was expertly built by Two Oceans Marine, with naval architecture by Michael Peters Yacht Design (USA) — a renowned powerboat specialist. The hull was designed by Peters, while Du Toit Yacht Design (South Africa) styled the upper deck and interior. The Two Oceans–Du Toit partnership has produced many successful custom builds — this vessel being no exception.

Big Bob was custom-designed for a serious game fisherman and is fully equipped for multi-day expeditions. She comfortably accommodates six anglers, with additional berths in the saloon. Her interior is stylish and practical, featuring a fully equipped galley, a spacious saloon, and a bathroom with shower.

She includes freezers, rod holders, fishing lockers, and optimised surfaces — all tailored for sport fishing. The boat combines elegant lines with robust performance, reflecting the owner’s detailed brief: a vessel capable of speed trolling at 3–9 knots, planing at 15 knots, cruising at 20 knots, manoeuvring easily in reverse on billfish, and handling 30-knot winds and heavy seas. She also needed to be stable, and towable behind a 75-foot expedition catamaran — a brief expertly delivered.

Big Bob carries 5,000 litres of diesel and 1,000 litres of water. Powered by twin Cummins QSM11-610 engines, she cruises comfortably at 25 knots and reaches a top speed of around 35 knots. A small tender is stowed on her foredeck.

She operates alongside her mothership, Quo Vadis — the 75-foot Open Ocean 750 Luxury Expedition Catamaran, also built by Two Oceans Marine, and designed by Du Toit Yacht Design. Quo Vadis serves as a luxurious base for extended fishing trips in Mozambican waters, and is designed to tow Big Bob across oceans on long-range expeditions.
