Community & Charity

Projects

Two Oceans Marine is a company that believes in contributing towards developing communities where possible, and the best way to do this is through the world of boating.

NRSI

a proud supporter

Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing has always been a supporter of the NSRI. In April 2019, the NSRI in South Africa announced that Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing would build their new fleet of Offshore Rescue Craft.

It is our vision to support local people and local industries by having our rescue boats built in South Africa. We are very proud to announce that Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing will partner with the NSRI to build the future generation of deep‑sea search and rescue fleet in Cape Town,” says CEO Dr Cleeve Robertson.

Mark Delany, Managing Director of Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing, says, “Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing has always been a proud supporter of the NSRI. We are excited to partner with the NSRI in building the new fleet of Search and Rescue vessels. Not only does this support an organisation which provides an invaluable service to all South Africans who use the sea, but also, by building these vessels in South Africa, this project supports local industry and job creation. Furthermore, the project will develop skills in the boat building industry, most notably the specialisation of composite offshore search and rescue craft building.

The Little Optimist Trust

platinum sponsor

Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing has become the platinum sponsor for the charity The Little Optimist, and is appealing to the global boating community to join the company in supporting a worthwhile cause.

There are various options available to join Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing in supporting The Little Optimist:

  • Gold and silver sponsorship packages
  • Items that Greg Bertish can use in auctions in aid of the NSRI
  • Buying and branding an optimist dinghy to teach disadvantaged children to sail, and for use in The Great Optimist Race
  • Ad hoc cash donations

Fishing Skiffs

giving back

Two Oceans is proud to be contributing to the Cape’s fishing communities by building subsistence fishing skiffs.

Since the company’s focus is the sea and watercraft, it made sense to give back by assisting communities who rely on the sea for their livelihood. Two Oceans is involved by building subsistence fishing skiffs for fishing co‑operatives in communities such as Stanford, Lamberts Bay, and Hondeklip Bay.
