Two Oceans Marine Newsletter Summer 2015

Dear Customers, Partners and Friends,

Another year has flown by and summer is here, bringing with it a frenzy of water activity – fishing, sailing and power-boating. 2014 has possibly been one of Two Oceans’ busiest years, with five, big custom catamarans currently in production as well as many production and custom Magnums for South Africa and abroad.

I’ll share a bit of what we have been up to – none of it possible without the support of you all.

Two Ocean Tuna Derby

This year was the 10th year that Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing sponsored the Two Oceans Tuna Derby at Atlantic Boat Club in Hout Bay from 3rd to 8th November. As usual, Atlantic Boat Club organised a great event and there was some fantastic sport fishing from the 33 boats and 134 anglers who entered, despite Cape Town laying on a week of some rather rough seas. Team “Buggie” won and their prize was a Two Oceans Seacat 465.

Five big custom catamarans in production

We are fortunate to currently have five custom catamarans in production – all custom designed and built to the owner’s specifications and needs. These exciting boats will be used for cruising, racing and kite surfing expeditions. They are:

• The Open Ocean 750 Expedition Catamaran
• The Open Ocean 800 Expedition Catamaran
• The M60 Full Carbon High Performance Sailing Catamaran
• The Open Ocean 740 Sailing Catamaran

Magnums

It’s been a busy year for us in terms of Magnum production, too. We’ve been busy both with commercial and leisure applications of these popular customizable boats.

Some of the Magnums have been exported to countries like Angola and Tanzania to be used as patrol boats and water taxis and we have just finished a customized Magnum 23 centre console for the local market and a Magnum 32 Sport Fisher which has just left for the UK. The design work on the new Magnum 2750 is now complete and the first boats should be launched during the Two Oceans Tuna Derby next year.

We’re about great service, too

Our service team is currently in Angola doing a major refit, engine installation and electrical work on some of the boats we have supplied there. We also recently set up our mobile container workshop at Club Naval in Luanda.
